Development of a large-scale B2B online store for FORUM ELECTRO
About the client
FORUM ELECTRO is a comprehensive supplier of electrical, cable and wire products, lighting, installation materials and equipment. Their assortment includes over 200 000 products, and this number continues to grow.
Project objectives
  • Implement an online store for electrical equipment with enhanced capabilities for the B2B segment;
  • Develop a tool to help customers select and purchase equipment and products effectively.
Solution

Work on this large-scale internet project was conducted in several stages. Before beginning the creation of the online store, we carried out preparatory work, which included discussions with representatives from various departments: marketing, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and company executives.

As a result of the analysis, we gained insights into:

  • detailed information about the company,

  • key features of the target audience,

  • specifics of the industry,

  • sales peculiarities.

Based on this information, we set the goals and objectives of the project and developed a comprehensive work plan.


Design

The online store's design was created in accordance with the company's brand style. The main page, catalogs with filters, product cards, personal account, and recommendation blocks are all designed in a consistent style, utilizing a white background, gray, and warm orange colors. In the product catalog, each category is marked with a unique icon representing the tools and equipment available for purchase in that section. This design choice helps users navigate the website more effectively.

Based on the initial information, the DOTSENKO.PRO team created a unique system that has become an indispensable tool for both customers and company employees.  

With this system, users can:

  • Select the necessary products online;

  • Find analog or compatible items using a flexible filtering system;

  • Control payments through financial document flow;

  • Receive notifications about the arrival of necessary products in the warehouse;

  • Calculate delivery costs;

  • Check the availability of products from suppliers;

  • Take advantage of a flexible discount system.

Project features include:

Automatic Creation of a Shopping Cart from .XLS Files

Adding a long list of products can be time-consuming and inconvenient. This feature allows users to upload a list of products from a file in just a few clicks, with the capability to upload up to 500 items at once.

Organization's personal account

Developed to simplify interaction between the client and contractor, this feature displays all necessary documents, such as contracts, invoices, and acts.

Draft block

Time-saving is crucial when working with B2B clients. The Draft Block allows clients to create a standard order and repeat it as needed.

Cart block

In situations where corporate clients take longer to decide on product purchases or wish to pay in different ways, multiple carts have been created with links to various items.


Outcome
We have created an online store with a wide range of products. Active interaction with the client at all stages of project development allowed us to design a user-friendly website with clear user scenarios. As of today, the FORUM ELECTRO online store is operational and receiving positive feedback.
